Rainy season is upon us and that means… let’s get busy planting ! Starting in June, we are busy tree planting, making and spreading seed balls, mulching, and setting up new farms and tree nurseries.
Come join in the action! Ockenden Cambodia and Evolution in Motion Permaculture Team are collaborating on projects in different regions of Cambodia, so there are a range of options for volunteering.
RATANAKIRI VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:
If the cool hill country and indigenous cultures appeal to you, in Ratanakiri we are currently working to create a Sacred Seeds Sanctuary and Community Permaculture Farm in a hill tribe village. A more detailed description of this project can be found here:
For the Sacred Seeds project, we are currently hosting volunteers in our home/office in central Banlung, the largest town in Ratanakiri, and doing overnight trips to the new farm, which is next to the forest and river. Volunteers will have their own room in the Banlung house, enjoy the local harvest by sharing delicious and creative vegetarian meals prepared by our talented chef Alex. This is a great opportunity to learn about Ratanakiri’s indigenous cultures, forests, and farming as well as ways to support cultural and ecological preservation by incorporating Permaculture and Ecovillage strategies.

BATTAMBANG & SISOPHON VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY:
Now that the rains are beginning, it is the perfect time to plant trees! We have tree nurseries full of seedlings that have been waiting for this moment all their lives, now with your help they will finally have the chance to get in the soil and spread their roots!
Starting July 1, 2013, we will have volunteer opportunities for tree planting at local schools, in our Permaculture Education Farm in southern Battambang Province, and other community sustainability projects administered by Ockenden Cambodia, an NGO focused on assisting resettled communities rebuild their lives in remote areas.
This time of year is busy on the farm, so we will also work together making and spreading seed balls, practicing the art of creating rich compost, mulching, weeding, and a range of other activities.
The cost of volunteering is different for each project and depending on the length of time you volunteer. Fees cover the basic costs of food, transport, accommodation– and your contribution makes these community projects possible!
Please feel free to contact me for more details on specific options: email@example.com
In your enquiry, please include:
